Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS)
Audible weather and remote helideck lighting for pilots approaching unmanned offshore installations.
Using their helicopter radio, pilots switch on the installation lights and receive real-time synthesised weather updates before they land. The ATIS module works on its own, or with our Helideck Monitoring System (HMS), where lighting and weather updates are synchronised.
How it works
Built for unmanned installations: the pilot controls the lights and hears the weather over the same radio used for the flight.
Radio pulse sequence
The pilot keys the helicopter radio in a predefined pulse sequence on approach.
Carrier wave recognition
The ATIS module detects the sequence and triggers the action assigned to it.
Lights on
It commands the lighting panel directly, for optimal visibility during the approach.
Weather broadcast
A synthesised voice gives the pilot an automated, real-time weather report.
