PACE – Processing & Collection Engine

Supported legacy software for existing helideck and meteorological monitoring installations

PACE is a real-time data acquisition and processing platform originally developed by Muir Matheson and now supported by WISE Group.

It remains in operational use on offshore platforms and vessels, where it collects, processes, displays and logs meteorological and motion data for helideck and environmental monitoring.

PACE is supported for existing installations but is not actively developed as the standard platform for new WISE Group monitoring systems.

PACE remains supported

Legacy status does not necessarily mean that a PACE system must be replaced immediately. Where an installation remains stable, supportable and suitable for its operational purpose, WISE Group can help maintain its continued operation.

Support may include troubleshooting, configuration assessment, sensor and communication issues, historical data questions, software licence assistance, connectivity and upgrade planning.

The support available will depend on the installed PACE version, computer hardware, operating system, system configuration and availability of compatible components. Read more about PACE support.

What PACE does

PACE provides the local acquisition, processing and display functions within existing helideck and meteorological monitoring systems. Learn how PACE works.

Real-time data acquisition

Collects measurements continuously from connected meteorological and motion sensors.

Data processing

Validates measurements and calculates operational parameters such as mean wind speed, gusts, QFE and QNH.

Operator displays and alarms

Presents processed information on local and networked displays, with configured thresholds and alarm indications.

Historical logging and data forwarding

Records configured parameters for historical review and can forward selected data to supported external platforms.

Support and lifecycle options

The right approach depends on the condition of the existing installation and the customer’s operational requirements.

Maintain the existing system

A stable PACE installation may remain in operation with appropriate technical support and maintenance.

Extend access through Orbalux

PACE data can be forwarded to Orbalux to provide remote dashboards, historical access and controlled data sharing while the local system remains operational.

Plan an upgrade

An upgrade assessment may be appropriate when ageing hardware, operating-system compatibility or changing requirements affect the system’s reliability or supportability.

Where an upgrade is the right answer, that may involve DADAS or a wider system upgrade, depending on the installation.

WISE Group can review the installed sensors, interfaces, displays, reports and operational requirements before recommending the appropriate way forward.

Connect PACE data to Orbalux

Orbalux is the successor to MM Weather and provides WISE Group’s long-term platform for cloud-based dashboards, historical access and controlled data sharing.

Existing PACE systems can forward selected processed data to Orbalux through an approved outbound connection. This can modernise remote access without requiring the immediate replacement of the local PACE system.

The available integration method depends on the PACE version, system configuration, network connectivity and customer cybersecurity requirements. Read about PACE and Orbalux integration.

Need help with an existing PACE system?

If you are experiencing a fault, planning a configuration change or assessing the future of an existing PACE installation, our support team can help.

When contacting us, please include the installation name, PACE version if known, affected parameter or display, when the issue started and details of any recent system changes.

Planning a new monitoring system?

PACE remains available for support of the installed base. New WISE Group monitoring systems are normally engineered using our current software platforms and integration architecture.
